Victoria + Simon - Married!

On Mother’s Day weekend I have the absolute privilege to photograph my close friends wedding!

The wedding took place in the beautiful Taranaki. The sun shone and the mountain even came out to say Hi!

Without further ado, I present to you, Victoria and Simon!

Victoria and her maid of honour got ready in New Plymouth. The girls at Cleaver & Rougue were incredible!

After that it was off to a gorgeous beach house to photograph some details. One of these rings if the engagement ring, the other is a promise ring. Both just stunning!

Victoria also had two wedding dresses! The one on the left was worn throughout the ceremony, high tea and photos. The one on the right was her reception dress as it made for easy dancing. Both such incredibly stunning dresses, and Victoria rocked both!

Simon got ready at their home in the beautiful country village of Opunake, which is also where the ceremony took place. He looked absolutely incredible in his tux with full tails, cummerbund and bow-tie.

The ceremony was a country themed with a high tea. It took place in the Opunake Town Hall (Fun fact, my husband’s great aunt petitioned and fought to keep this very hall open, so designed the interior when it was saved). There was bunting, toi toi, and fresh flowers in abundance. The favours were take home seed packets - how amazing is that!

This stunning cake was made by Victoria’s talented Aunt.

The bonus of being in Taranaki is having one of New Zealand’s most stunning mountains as a backdrop. It was cold that close but oh so worth it.

The reception was a dance party that took place back in New Plymouth. Such a fun end to a stunning day. I was so incredibly privileged to get to take part in this gorgeous wedding!

Nicole + Tommo - Dunedin Wedding Photography

In April I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Nicole and Tommo's wedding out at Grandview Gardens in Outram. The day was filled with so much love and gorgeousness, and the venue was to die for! Without further ado, Nicole and Tommo! Also a big shout-out to Hannah from The Freckled Bird Photography for coming and second shooting with me!

Makeup: Embellir
Hair: Loft Studio
Dress: Brides by Donna Rae
Venue: Grandview Gardens
Cake: The Dessert Room
Celebrant: Christine Hislop

I actually can't get over how stunning these bridesmaids dresses were.  My heart swooned when I laid eyes on them.

Two of Nicole's bridesmaids got her a beautiful necklace for her wedding day. How cool is that! These talented girls were also responsible for everyone's hair and makeup.

One of my big goals this season was to get better at freelensing, and work it into my creative shots on the wedding day. I'm proud to say I think I smashed this goal. You can spot 'freelensing' work by the overly blurry background with very little in focus, but the parts that are in focus are pin sharp.

After the girls got ready it was time to head off to the beautiful Outram venue that is Grandview Gardens. Jo has such a spectacular venue, and is a dream to work with! I had such a ball out at her venue, and it had so many amazing spots for photos. I spent some time hanging with the boys and capturing the guests arriving before it was ceremony time.

Soon enough, it was time for the ceremony to begin. Did I mention the celebrant was the groom's mum? How cool is that? And she was a fabulous celebrant to boot!

Have I mentioned just how beautiful this venue was? There were so many spots for photographs. Not to be cliche, but the possibilities really felt endless. What we used was a mere fraction of the grounds.

After this, the bridal party headed back, and we quickly shot up to the forest. The forest is like something out of a fairy tale. It's absolutely draw dropping in person, and then just beyond the forest there's more beautiful paddocks, and, if you go at the right time of the day, you'll catch the sunset!

After the forest, it was time to head back to the reception. The place had been lovingly directed, mostly by the Groom's mum - this lady has endless talent! She did all the table flowers, and I was told most of the theming. Talk about a multi talented mum!

The day was just filled with endless love. Nicole and Tommo, thank you so much for having me along, a huge thank-you to your families for being so welcoming, and all your guests for having a good laugh!

April + Sebastian - Dunedin Wedding Photography

April + Sebastian were married last month in the Port Chalmers town hall. I had the pleasure of photographing their beautiful wedding and spending the entire day with such a cool couple and their lovely families. Their bridal parties were a laugh a minute, and the whole day went without a hitch due to April's amazing organisational skills.

One of the big goals I had this year was to be more purposeful with my detail shots, especially the rings. For Aprils' engagement ring, I used her beautiful flax bouquet as a backdrop. This provided us with the beautiful green and blue; which were the main colours for her wedding (and the colours of the peacock feather).

After the hair and makeup were complete, it was time to head to the groom and photograph the groomsmen and groomsladies getting ready.

Then it was back to the brides to capture the finishing touches, a touch up of lippie, and the bride getting into her gorgeous dress.

Beverly and Graham - Dunedin Wedding Photography

Two Saturdays ago I spent the afternoon photographing the beautiful wedding of Beverly and Graham here in Dunedin.

They married in the beautiful Rhododendron Dell in Port Chalmers. The Dell has a lookout, which you can go up and see all of Port Chalmers from.

I arrived a little while before Beverly and Graham, which gave me a chance to spin some yarns with the guests, and take a good look at all the beautiful rhododendrons on display, which I have a very strong attachment to as my grandmother grew them in her garden.

Beverly and Graham opted to have some images before their wedding in the gardens, in order to make use of time after the ceremony to greet guests and get to their reception.

They then walked hand in hand to their ceremony, it was a beautiful ceremony in a lovely little setting.

The wee dude below created some great entertainment; he kept giving me cheeky grins throughout the ceremony, and climbed part of the cliff during the signing of the register.

Before the reception, we snuck some more portraits in. The harbour provided a beautiful backdrop, and the brick interior of the reception restuaruant did too!

On the final weekend of August I had the absolute pleasure in taking part in a styled photo-shoot with a bunch of talented ladies out at Port Molyneux School.

The Port Molyneux School is out in South Otago end of the Catlins (near Nugget Point), and is an old school that has been refurbished as a Wedding Venue! I've been wanting to photograph out there for a while so organised a styled shoot for winter.

The headmaster's house has been refurbished as on site accomodation, and made for an amazing location to get our bride ready in. Jess from Beautiful Bride did an amazing job with hair and makeup.

Then there was the wedding dress. Oh my life this thing was stunning beyond words.

The florals on this shoot were incredibly stunning. That flower crown, and wait until you see the bouquet!

Jessie is incredibly beautiful already so looked effortlessly beautiful once all the pieces came together.

You've probably gotten sick of me talking, so from here on out I'm going to let the images speak for themselves.

Joan and Doug - Married! - Invercargill Wedding Photography

Almost three weeks ago I had the absolute privilege to document the wedding between Joan and Doug. I had such an amazing day and I left their wedding absolutey buzzing.

The majority of the day was spent at the absolutely beautiful Hawthorne Gardens. It was my first time shooting out there, so I drove out there the day before to scout for good locations, and I actually got myself so excited I almost couldn't sleep. I love my job! The expansive gardens are absolutely stunning, and I can't wait to show you this wedding!

I consider it an honour and a privilege to document every wedding, and I want to say a huge thank-you to Joan and Doug for inviting me to document their special day.

We started the day with hair and make-up at Vibes on St Andrews street in Invercargill. The incredibly talented Kendyl Tulagi was taking care of the make-up, whilst the stylists of Vibes were doing the hair.

As the hair and make-up were wrapping up, I departed to the Groom's preperations. Doug was getting ready at a friends house, and the vibe was definitely one of laughter and fun.

It was then back to the brides house to document her preperations. Joan's dress and the bridesmaids dresses are absolutely, out of this world stunning!

The guests started arriving at the beautiful expansive grounds of Hawthorne Gardens, and the wedding was set to begin. I'm still not over how gorgeous every aspect of this wedding was. Joan had her son's giving her away, which I think may be one of my top 10 all time favourite wedding moments.

After the ceremony I whisked away the bridal party for some images, and I had plenty of amazing spots to choose from.

Then it was a fun and relaxed drinks hour before the formalities of the reception. I had an amazing day and so many new favourite images. The cake looked devine and was so rich in detail.

Styled in Southland - Invercargill Wedding Photography

Last Weekend I embarked on a mission - to complete my first ever styled shoot. The aim of this shoot was to establish myself as an 'iconically' southland photographer - So I chose to photograph the 'bride and groom' in some of the stunning locations that Invercargill has to offer! I settled on Queens Park, The Water Tower and Oreti Beach. I still cannot believe we have a stunning location like Queens Park right in the middle of town - how lucky are we!

Krystal + Zak - Central Otago Wedding Photography.

Krystal and Zak were married on a stunning day in the beautiful town of Alexandra, and I had the pleasure of photogrpahing their beautiful wedding. The sun shone down relentlessly, which only made the day more stunning. Their day was filled with absolute love and joy, and it gives me the greatest of pleasures to be able to share their preview with you all! Introducing, Krystal and Zak!
